Have you ever dreamed of camping in the middle of the St. Lawrence? Of being woken up by the blow of minke whales or by cooing parades of male Common Eiders? Your dream can come true on Île aux Lièvres, a unique destination some call the pearl of the St. Lawrence. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned camper, you can choose among four campgrounds.

The campgrounds

La plage

Ten campsites, all seaside and only 300 m from the landing dock. Nearby toilets, showers and drinking water. Ration of firewood available for a modest fee.

Les Cèdres

Magnificently located on the northern cliffs of the island overlooking the mountains of Charlevoix, a 1 hr 15 min hike from the landing dock. Seven campsites. Dry toilet and raw water (variable supply).

L’Anse à la Boule

Three campsites in the south central part of the island with a superb view of Ilôt de La Boule (access prohibited), the islands of Pot à l’Eau-de-Vie and the south shore of the river. A 1 hr 15 min hike from the landing dock. Dry toilet and raw water.

Les Bélugas

The most remarkable and challenging site, 12 km from the landing dock (3 hr hike) at Bout-d’en-Haut (western point of the island). Four secluded campsites with dry toilet, raw water, and shelter near sites 3 and 4 only.

Rental terms

Reservations by phone are requested at all times (1-877-867-1660 or 1-418-867-1660). RESERVATIONS BEGIN ON 21 MARCH 2022 from Monday to Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm
Maximum of four campers and two tents per site.
Location on a daily basis. You must quit your site at 2:00 pm.
Camping for one to six nights at more than one site per stay if desired.
The full payment must be made when completing reservation.
Only one credit card is accepted per reservation.

Campsite rental includes

Drinking water and sanitary facilities including showers available near the dock.
Picnic table at each site.
Firebox.
Map of the island and hiking trails.

Rental does not include

Round-trip boat crossing from Rivière du Loup.

Cancellation and refund policy

Cancellations made 7 days or more in advance of the location of a camping site will receive a 50% refund.
Cancellations made less than 7 days in advance of the location of a camping site will not be refunded.
Payments not refunded can be converted into a donation upon request by email and an official receipt will be issued for all donations over $25. Alternatively, they can be converted into a credit for the following year but will not be converted into a donation nor reported for future use if unused.
Modification made 7 days or less after booking and that does not affect the value of a contract (ex. dates) is accepted with no charge. Otherwise, a $20 fee (plus taxes) is charged.
Modification that upgrades the value of a contract (ex. addition of visitors, prolongation of the stay) is accepted without charge depending on availability.
Modification that reduces the value of a contract (ex. partial cancellation) is treated according to the cancellation and refund policy.
Clients who decided by themselves to leave earlier or to shorten their stay will not be refunded nor offered a credit.

General terms

All indoor areas are NON SMOKING.
The boat crossing schedule varies according to tides. Exact departure and return times will be provided when you make your reservations.
A maximum of 2 items of luggage per person is allowed on the boat.
Gathering fruit is prohibited, except for immediate consumption.
Disturbing the wildlife and fishing are prohibited.
Biking is not allowed on Île aux Lièvres. We can store your bike in Rivière-du-Loup during your stay on Île aux Lièvres.
Pets are not allowed.
All guests must observe a curfew and code of ethics.
Sea kayaking from or around Île aux Lièvres is not allowed.
Beach bonfires prohibited.
